Honest Woman

Rella and I celebrated our 10th anniversary yesterday, and I thought it was about time that I made an honest woman out of her, and so I asked her to marry me!!!

Thankfully she said yes. The deed was done in our 'cosy' flat before we went out for a meal. It's become a bit of a tradition at special occasions to make each other cards, and my proposal was a small poem in the card, naturally on one knee and with a dozen red roses.

We haven't set a date yet, but we'll be back in the UK in March. We both want a Summer wedding so are setting our sights on either Aug 2008, or Aug 2009.

Just one last detail - at our celebratory meal last night, I had brains for a starter. Never had them before and it was yummy!! (even Rella liked them). Who said romance was dead...

God I'm so happy I could cry (well I did!). Rella you're going to be a bride! I can't stop thinking about it. The rest of your lives together it's great it just seals what we all already new that you're meant to be you two! Miss you, would love to see you to celebrate with you but still you'll be back before we know it. Huge love and kisses to you both. Your incredibly honoured Maid(or heaven forbid as I'm married does that make me a Matron! not sure I like that!).xx

Congratulations! Well done Ed; I think it's definitely good to take your time over these things, but I don't think you need to worry too much about making the wrong decision here!

Very Happy for both you - babies now. :)

All the best,

Ben G

hello annarella and ed gyda put a congrats on the blog for me as i have been hard at work with olav and gyda trying to get kjolsdalen ready for sale.So here are my official congratulations so pleased for you and ed what a lot we have to do. at least the house in somerest is in good order as we have restored the basement making more room for everyone. .we will have to have internet wedding planning sessions in fact mark could set up an internet wedding planner for use by all and sundry. i am sure we will have many happy emails on the W word. Grandma sens her congratulations to you both. she not very well at the moment so i hope she holds on until i get back next week. wasnt it nice to see a blog from lars. louise will ne back from nepal today and leiferic on tuesday and helene is back in norway this next week so she can start planning her wedding. helene is hoping to have her wedding in a very posh ancient building called haakons halle its got a green dome and its down by all the wooden houses on bryggen down by the boats. The reception will be up the mountain in floyen you know the one that has the funicular on it. we will be dining in the restaurant at the top and then we get the free firework display as every one lets off their old marine flairs on new years eve and then they buy new ones for the next year. its the only day of the year you are allowed to let off flares. The last train goes back down the mountain at 2am so just right.KJOLSDALEN is on the market so if any of you bloggers want a huge house in the western fjords with location location there is one up for sale at only the price of a three bedroom council house in england. It has 30 rooms. Each room has several huge picture windows as you know wella and ed so i have spent the past three days cleaning them inside and out 53 of them nearly there. Well what organising we will have to do. the marquee, the booze. That needs careful consideration and maybe a trip to champagne country. i will consult alex on the subject as we will probably have to order this autumn. How many bottles of champagne do you think 250 maybe. Then there is the red and white wine probably another one for alex and then the norwegian aquavit to celebrate the norwegian connection and then of course the best somerset otter and the best somerset cider just joking i think.

annarella and ed just another blog to say the tall ships race is in maloy from the 1st august to 4th august. i am not saying that this will interfere with anything just that flights may be tricky as this has been planned for the past 4 years and is quite a big international thing we will have to look at church dates etc first how about a honeymoon in kjolsdalen lots of love elsa

Big Big Congratulations you guys!! Ahhhh Fantastic, another family bash awaits with the Knighting of Cousin Rella now I feel! Do like our family gatherings, they're such good fan! Brilliant timing too as I needed to book a return flight sometime next summer, now I know when it needs to be! Roasting it out here in Dubai, currently averaging around 43 each day but you get used to it. Really enjoying it, lots to do, jobs going well, some good diving in nearby Oman and east coast UAE. Looking forward to some cooler weather when we can go dune bashing and camping in the desert, driving through Wadi's and stuff. Anyway congratulations again, lovely ring, great news really pleased for you both lots of love cousin Jayne & Nick xx
