Nusa Lembongan
Another island, this time south of Bali. We had heard that this was the spot to see Manta Rays whilst diving, thought we could try and get another tick on the list of things we wanted to see and do. As we approached Lembongan we realised that we had made an excellent choice, the island was fringed with white sand and the water was a crystal blue with clear visibility to its floor. Wow! Jumping off the boat, into the sea we walked along the beach to our accomodation at World Dive. A fan room with ensuite cost a mere 5 quid for both of us. Result!

The view from our bedroom

The following day we headed out to Manta Point in the hope of seeing some rays, we weren't disappointed. Within 5 minutes of being in the water we had seen at least two. They were huge, with their wing span being at least 12ft. It felt a little daunting to be in the water with such big creatures, but although they were curious about what we were doing they left us well alone.

The following day we headed out to "playground" one of the islands three surf breaks. The day after we headed out to explore the island by scooter.

Enjoying island life

Sunset on the local beach

A further improvement to our hotel was not only the sunset from the restaurant but the pets avaliable for borrowing. 'scooby' adopted us for the duration of our stay and spent a lot of time guarding our front door...took a lot of will power not to bring her home!
